About the Conference

The world is confronting interlinked crises—climate change, economic inequality, and geopolitical instability—that threaten long-term global stability. Climate change, driven by fossil fuel use and deforestation, has raised global surface temperatures by 1.1°C between 2011 and 2020 compared to pre-industrial levels, causing irreversible ecological damage and disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities lacking resources for adaptation. Simultaneously, inequality has deepened: while income gaps between countries have slightly narrowed, within-country disparities are rising. The UN reports that 71% of the global population lives in increasingly unequal societies, with North America’s average income 16 times higher than Sub-Saharan Africa’s. In India, the wealthiest 10% hold 77% of national wealth, while climate impacts—erratic monsoons, rising temperatures, and water scarcity—compound vulnerabilities.

Geopolitical instability further complicates these challenges. Conflicts like the Russia-Ukraine war have caused humanitarian and economic crises, while shifting global policies, such as the U.S. withdrawal from climate agreements, undermine international cooperation critical for sustainable development. Social unrest, fueled by inequality and environmental degradation, heightens risks. ...

Submission Guidelines

  • Originality Requirement: We invite academicians, policymakers, practitioners, and independent researchers to submit proposals for individual papers, panel sessions, provocations, roundtables, poster presentations, and other innovative formats that respond to the conference themes.
  • Submission Process:To participate, please submit an 800-word extended abstract (including your name, institution, and affiliation) in both Word and PDF formats to ecoconference.ncr@christuniversity.in
  • Full Paper vs. Extended Abstract
    1. Submit the extended abstract and full paper if you wish your work to be considered for both presentation and publication.
    2. Submit the extended abstract only if you intend to present your work at the conference without seeking publication.
  • Language of Manuscripts: Manuscripts must be submitted in English.
  • Presentation Requirement: By submitting a paper, authors agree that at least one author will register for the conference and present the paper if accepted. Acceptance does not guarantee publication; only presented papers will be forwarded to the publication partner. Presenters will receive a Certificate of Presentation.
  • Publication of Selected Papers: Selected papers will be published in a Scopus-indexed journal. Before final publication, proofs may be sent to the corresponding author, so please ensure that the email address provided in the manuscript is accurate. Authors are advised to regularly check the conference website for updates regarding publication details.

Peer Review Guidelines

  1. 1. Plagiarism Check: To ensure originality, all submissions are screened using Turnitin (or equivalent plagiarism detection software). Papers failing this check will be desk-rejected immediately. By submitting a paper, authors agree to our single-blind review process and understand that manuscripts will undergo peer review only after passing the plagiarism check. Authors are required to submit revised manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments and may be asked to make further revisions before final publication, even after the conference.
  2. 2. Initial Scope Check: The Publication Chairs will conduct an initial review to confirm that the submission aligns with the conference themes and scope. Manuscripts that pass this stage will be forwarded for double-blind peer review.
  3. 3. Expert Review: Each manuscript will be evaluated by two to three independent experts in the relevant field for originality, methodological rigour, academic quality, and clarity of presentation.
  4. 4. Editorial Evaluation of Review Reports: Peer review reports will be assessed by an editor to ensure they meet international scientific standards.
  5. 5. Feedback to Authors: Valid peer review reports are shared with the authors, who are required to revise the manuscript according to the comments. If a review is deemed invalid, the editor may assign a new reviewer or make a decision based on their own judgment.
  6. 6. Author Revisions: Authors must provide a detailed response to all reviewer comments and revise their manuscript accordingly.
  7. 7. Editorial Re-evaluation: The editor evaluates the revised manuscript to confirm that all reviewer comments have been adequately addressed.
  8. 8. Final Decision: The Editors will make the final decision on acceptance for publication.
  9. NOTE: Article Processing Charges (APCs) will apply according to the publisher’s guidelines.
